A Mediterranean Airport Just West of Valencia
Valencia Airport (VLC) is located approximately eight kilometres west of the city, beside Manises. It serves both Valencia itself and a much wider mix of leisure, business and coastal travel.
For some passengers, the destination is the historic centre. Others continue towards the City of Arts and Sciences, Valencia's port, beachfront accommodation, a business address or another destination outside the central city.
A private transfer allows the journey to be organised around that actual address rather than assuming that every passenger needs the same airport-to-centre route.

Valencia Airport Is Growing Fast
Valencia Airport handled exactly 11,847,527 passengers in 2025, an increase of 9.6% compared with 2024 and a new annual record.
Aena recorded 93,110 aircraft operations during the year, while the airport's network comprised 140 routes.
International traffic forms the majority of the airport's passenger activity, reinforcing VLC's role as an international gateway to Valencia and Spain's Mediterranean coast.
The Growth Has Continued in 2026
The latest Aena figures available for the first seven months of 2026 show 7,312,106 passengers, an increase of 8.5% compared with the same period of 2025.
International traffic grew even faster, rising by 11.6%. More than 5.57 million commercial passengers during that period were travelling to or from an international city.
July alone brought approximately 1.26 million passengers through VLC, illustrating the importance of the summer season to the airport.
Valencia Has Something Many Airport Cities Would Like: A Direct Metro
Valencia Airport has its own Metrovalencia station on the ground floor of the regional flights terminal. Two lines connect the airport directly with the metropolitan network.
- Line 3: Airport – Rafelbunyol
- Line 5: Airport – Marítim Serrería
Line 3 connects VLC with the city centre, university area and northern metropolitan districts. Line 5 also serves central Valencia and continues towards the port area.
On working days, Aena currently lists an approximate frequency of every 15 minutes, with approximately 20-minute intervals on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
When the Metro Is Probably the Smart Choice
If you are travelling alone with light luggage and your hotel is close to a convenient Metrovalencia station, the metro can be an excellent airport transport option.
Unlike airports where public transport requires an immediate bus-to- rail interchange, VLC already places passengers directly onto the metropolitan rail network.
For many straightforward city-centre journeys, that makes public transport both practical and attractive.
What Does a Private Transfer Add?
A chauffeur solves a different problem: the journey continues directly towards the complete address supplied with your reservation rather than ending at the nearest metro station.
This can make more sense for families, groups, passengers with several suitcases, late arrivals and travellers heading to beachfront, residential or regional destinations away from a convenient station.
The farther the final address lies from the metro network, the more relevant door-to-door transport can become.
Popular Transfers from Valencia Airport
Valencia City Centre
Direct transport towards hotels, apartments and private addresses around Ciutat Vella, Eixample and central Valencia.
City of Arts and Sciences
Continue directly towards hotels and accommodation around one of Valencia's best-known modern districts without completing the final journey from a metro stop.
Valencia Port
Private transport can be arranged towards the appropriate port area for passengers whose onward journey continues by sea or whose accommodation lies nearby.
Beachfront Valencia
Travel directly towards accommodation around the maritime side of the city, including hotels and private addresses near the coast.
Business Addresses
Corporate travellers can continue directly towards a company, meeting venue, exhibition location or other specified professional address.
Destinations Beyond Valencia
Longer private transfers can be considered when VLC is the starting point for a journey beyond the city. Provide the complete destination when requesting your quotation.
Airport, City and Port Can Be Three Different Journeys
Valencia's geography makes the final address especially important. A passenger staying in the historic centre, a traveller heading to the maritime districts and someone continuing towards the port may all land on the same flight but require very different ground journeys.
Metro Line 5 is particularly useful because it continues towards the port side of the city. A private transfer becomes the alternative when the actual hotel, terminal or address is not conveniently reached from that route.
For Coastal Journeys, Use the Exact Destination
Valencia Airport also serves travellers whose accommodation lies outside the city itself.
For these journeys, a town or resort name may cover a substantial area. Supplying the complete hotel or accommodation address helps define the real road journey before travel.
We avoid giving one generic transfer time for the coast because destination, traffic and seasonal conditions can all materially change the journey.
There Is Also a Direct Airport Bus
Metrovalencia is not the only public transport option. Metropolitan bus line 150 connects Valencia Airport with central Valencia via Manises, Quart de Poblet and Mislata.
This gives passengers another useful alternative, particularly when the route or intermediate stops work better for their destination than the metro.
Schedules vary by day, so passengers planning to use the bus should check current Aena or Metrobus information before travelling.
Summer Changes the Passenger Mix
Valencia combines city tourism with Mediterranean leisure travel. During the warmer months, more arriving passengers continue towards beaches, holiday accommodation and destinations outside the traditional city-centre hotel districts.
This is when the distinction between “Valencia Airport transfer” and “transfer to central Valencia” becomes especially important.
Returning to Valencia Airport
Return transfers can be arranged from your hotel, private residence, business address or another agreed pickup location towards VLC.
Allow an appropriate margin for city traffic and, for longer coastal journeys, seasonal road conditions.
Your airline's recommended airport arrival time should always be included when deciding the pickup time.

Tell Us Where the Journey Really Ends
“Valencia” may describe the general destination, but it does not necessarily describe the final journey.
When possible, provide the hotel name, port destination, company, private address or complete accommodation details when requesting your transfer.
This allows the service to be considered according to the actual route rather than a generic airport-to-centre journey.
